Abstract.
On the occasion of the Fifth Centenary of Donato Bramante's death it is very interesting to analyse an excellent exemple of bramantesque architecture in Lombard land, that is the remaining portion of ancient and beautiful "Cascina and Villa Pozzobonelli": the little Chapel and charming and elegant porch (the four "campate" survivors of ten "arcades" of the original wonderful "porticato").
The authors consider the history and they describe the principal studies and remarks (during the XIX century and the beginning of XX century) that famous researchers (Camillo Boito, Gaetano Moretti, Luca Beltrami) undertaken about this monument and the careful investigation and designs of young architect Pier Olindo Armanini, prematurely deceased, until the very most important, complete and very careful investigation maked by Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Luigi Guagliumi with relator and tutor the Prof. Arch. Ambrogio Annoni, at Politecnico of Milan, drived and leaded in the 1936/'37 years.
They realized analitical designs in all different projections, sections and proposed a very interesting experimental project for his transport.
This study was recovered and amplified by the same architect Luigi Guagliumi in his publication titled : "Study for the relief, disegn, restoration and transport of an ancient monument "The Cascina Pozzobonelli in Milan", edited in 1958, Milan (2nd edition, the first edition in 1954).
The 2nd Chapter expose and compare this small masterpiece, example of Renaissance's architecture with other important works of Donato Bramante in Lombard land and in particular near the court of Ludovico Maria Sforza named "il Moro", Duke of Milan, but non only.
Finally, an appendix consider and describe the restoration technics of monument's transport (the theory and exemples of this complex and delicate method).
It is faced the extraordinary experience of Abu Simbel's Temples rescue (sovereing Ramses II -high Egypt) during five years (1963 - 1968), adopting an italian project, a variant modified and updated of the original idea proposed for removal and transfer the remaining portions of the "Cascina Pozzobonelli".
